CHMA CHRONICAL

      “New Beginnings…”

Happy New Year to all of our CHMA Families!   We are excited to have all of you back and hope that you had an enjoyable Holiday Break.  Thank you to all of you who contributed your time and effort in both the Holiday Party and the CSA Holiday Show!   We truly had a memorable experience at each event.  The students performed beautifully during the CSA Holiday Show and we received a big “Thank You” for our participation.

I want to welcome Mrs. Crystal & Ms. Amy to the CHMA Staff while I am taking my Maternity Leave for 4to 6 weeks.   Please take the time to introduce yourself and welcome them.   I am entrusting Mrs. Crystal & Ms. Amy to care and teach your children, and feel it is important that you take the time to get to know them while I am absent from the classroom.   Mrs. Crystal is a certified Montessori Teacher (NAMC) and has taught Montessori in the past at the old location both in the preschool and toddler classrooms.  She was certified in 2005 and performed a year internship with me before becoming a Head Montessori Teacher.  Ms. Amy has also worked for me in the past as an aide in classroom  & as an administrative assistant.  She has three children of her own, two who attended Montessori.

In Language the students will continue to work on their individual skills, but letter sound discrimination, ending sounds, rhyming, and word building will to be presented weekly to the class.  In Math, students will continue to work on quantification of numbers 0-20, addition, the decimal system (Golden Beads), number order, and odd and even numbers.  In Culture/Geography, new land and water forms will be introduced including isthmus and straight and countries in Central America before moving to South America and our study of the Amazon Rainforest.    In Science, we will be learning about the characteristics of Mammals and learning facts about the different mammal groups using various materials and resources.
